Former Bravo star Jen Shah claims an investigation by RHOSLC production found “nothing wrong” with co-star calling her son the N-word.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City may have moved on from Jen Shah, but the same can’t be said for the former Bravo star turned prison inmate.
Jen Shah recently came out swinging against Bravo and the production team behind the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The disgraced Bravoleb claims that one of her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast mates called her son the N-word and that production found “nothing wrong” with the remark following an investigation.
Earlier this month, in a statement to Page Six via her rep, Jen revealed, “A cast member of the show (on ‘RHOSLC’) called my child the N-Word, which I reported to Lisa Shannon and the rest of the Shed Media production team.”
“My husband was also gifted a bag of watermelon from [a former ‘friend of’ and current ‘Housewife’] during a scene,” she continued.
Jen, who starred on Bravo’s RHOSLC from season one to season three, is of Tongan and Hawaiian descent. The 50-year-old is married to Sharrieff Shah, aka Coach Shah, who is black. The couple, who wed in 1994, share two sons: Sharrieff Jr., 29, and Omar, 20.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum claims Shed Media, the company that produces several Housewives franchises, “investigated” the alleged incidents but “found nothing wrong with [her] son being called the N-Word and the watermelon being given to [her] husband.”
A rep for Shed Media told Page Six: “We strongly disagree with Mrs. Shah’s characterization of events. Consistent with our internal guidelines, we decline to comment on confidential investigations.”
The gossip reports that they learned that Shed “acted on its own initiative” to investigate the alleged incident after seeing comments about it on Jen’s Instagram page. However, sources say that no one from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast came to them with complaints about the watermelon.
Jen did not divulge which RHOSLC co-star made the alleged comment or to which of her sons the comment was said.
The RHOSLC OG is currently serving a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence for conspiracy to commit wire fraud at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. In July 2022, Jen pleaded guilty to defrauding thousands of victims, mainly the elderly, out of money in a nationwide telemarketing scheme. She was sentenced on January 6th and reported to prison on February 17th.
This allegation from Jen comes on the heels of Vanity Fair‘s expose into Bravo and the Real Housewives.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 4 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
