Desperate Taylor Swift fans panicked this morning as their last chance to get tickets to her Aussie shows next year seemingly went awry – but as the songstress says herself, You Need To Calm Down.

At 10am AEDT, Ticketek officially opened its resale platform – Ticketek Marketplace – to the public, allowing for those who are looking to offload their 2024 Australian Eras Tour tickets the chance to be matched with a buyer.

But when eager fans logged onto the portal, they were met with something worse than the dreaded blue line – a frozen blue line, with screens not moving past the loathed lounge.

Unlike past live sales, however, this is nothing to panic about.

As explained by Ticketek, the “blue bar on the Marketplace Lounge pages is a progress bar and indicates your place for entry into Marketplace. It will move as more fans go through to list/buy tickets.”

Availability of tickets, however, is completely dependent on those who are willing to part with theirs and put them up for resale – and fans can put their tickets up for sale any time from now until Swift touches down in Australia in February.

Simply put, some ticketholders may not be willing to part with theirs until a later date, if at all.

As one fan explained overnight on X, formerly Twitter: ”guys don’t expect to get them straight away. it’s open for people to sell tickets from tomorrow till the shows. It will take time and patience. Just keep checking up every now and then through your week good luck 🤞”.

It’s no exaggeration to say that millions of Taylor Swift fans were left heartbroken in June when tickets to her 2024 Australian Eras Tour shows completely sold out in a matter of hours.

And then again in early November when the limited amount of “partially-obstructed view” seats were snapped up even faster.

But devoted fans still have a chance to get their hands on tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour’s Australian shows on Ticketek Marketplace from 10am AEDT on Friday, November 24 until February 2024 – here’s what to know.

What is Ticketek Marketplace?

Ticketek Marketplace is an official reselling platform that connects the seller and buyer – and offers protection from scammers for both.

The website states that resale tickets are capped 10 per cent above face value, which helps prevent ticket scalping or sales at ridiculous amounts.

General tickets for the Eras Tour originally ranged from $79 to $379, although some VIP packages originally ranged from $349 to $1249.

“Every ticket exchanged is reissued into the name of the new owner and guarantees fans entry to their event,” the website reads.

The original barcode on tickets is cancelled and Ticketek will re-issue the barcodes to concertgoers closer to the performance dates in February 2024.

“The original ticket will become void to ensure you are the only holder of the ticket. Marketplace is the only place you can trust to verify that the Ticketek ticket is valid to ensure you are guaranteed entry at the time of the event,” Ticketek Marketplace reads.

There have been reports that customers who have purchased tickets from unauthorised resellers including Buy, Sell, Swap pages, Viagogo, eBay and Gumtree will not gain access into the venue.

How to use Ticketek Marketplace

For sellers, listing a ticket on Ticketek Marketplace is free – but sellers need a Ticketek account for the transaction.

Sellers also have the option to sell tickets either individually or in a group and tickets are sent directly to the buyer for an easy transaction.

For buyers, Ticketek Marketplace has ensured that if they don’t receive their tickets for any reason, they give you a money back guarantee.

What to do after you get Taylor Swift tickets

For many fans, getting a concert ticket is only half the battle won.

Given the Bad Blood singer is only performing in two cities, hoards of ‘Swifties’ have already set their sights on the next task – securing hotels and flights to get them there.

The surge in demand (+9400 per cent for some properties!) has seen a host of hotels already fully booked, and flights selling fast.
