Isla Fisher has told of her husband Sacha Baron Cohen‘s touching gesture for her as she grieved the loss of her father.
The Aussie actress, 47, recently made the trip back to Scotland, “where (her) ancestral roots are,” after the January death of her father Brian Fisher, aged 84.
“Over the past months, I’ve learnt to cope with the sudden and searing waves of grief that were once overwhelming,” she penned in an article for You Magazine.

“Now, being here in Scotland makes me feel closer to him. I hear his voice in the accents of the people I meet. I see his stoic determination in theirs.”
She then shared that her husband Cohen, a comedian known for his role as Borat, gifted her something to remember her father by wherever she went.
“Sacha bought me a ring so I could hold his memory close every day,” she wrote, “It’s a simple gold band with a delicate Scottish heather. It reminds me of home.”

She shared that her dad and family may have also had a hand in her marriage to the comedian, 52, albeit indirectly.
“Jokes were a currency in our family and you were rewarded for getting the loudest laugh,” she said.
“Plus, nothing was off limits, something that has no doubt inspired my comedic acting over the years – and possibly my choice of husband too.”
Not much is known about the couple’s love story, as they keep tight-lipped about it in interviews, but we do know that they met right here in Australia in 2002.
In a 2020 interview, Cohen shared they were “at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the micky out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don’t know if she did. It’s taken her about 20 years to know.”
The pair wed in 2010 and now share three children – daughters Olive, born 2007, Elula, born 2010 and son Montgomery, born 2015.
The family has moved back to Australia in 2020 and is believed to be residing in Perth.
