Draymond Green is letting it be known that he doesn’t live his life with regrets and he’s not dwelling on the past when it comes to putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock.
As we previously reported, Green was hit with a five-game suspension for placing Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock on Nov. 14, and while speaking with the media for the first time since the incident Draymond Green admitted that he doesn’t regret what he did because he was coming to his teammate’s defense.

“I don’t live my life with regrets,” Green said, via ESPN. “I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense. … What matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost. How are the people that I care about affected? How are the people I care about, what do they have to deal with? That’s it for me.”
This isn’t the first time Green and Gobert have had heated situations. When asked about the previous time things got a little out of hand between the two this is how he responded.
“Things can be interpreted how people want to interpret them,” he explained. “I’m not here to judge people’s interpretations or try to change them. They are what they are. I know that for me, I am always going to be there for my teammates. That’s who I am. That’s who I am as a teammate, that’s who I am as a friend. … Right, wrong or indifferent, look to your side, and I’ll be there — or even in front of you.”
In the viral video that is still surfacing on social media Thompson and McDaniels started pulling and shoving each other while going up the court and then Rudy Gobert hopped in which led Draymond to run over and put Gobert in a chokehold!
Gobert spoke on the situation after it happened and referred to Draymond’s actions as “clown behavior.”
In a recent interview with The Athletic, Gobert shared, “It’s kind of funny because before the game, I was telling myself that Steph (Curry) is not playing, so I know Draymond is going to try and get ejected,” Gobert said.
“Because every time Steph doesn’t play, he doesn’t want to play, it’s his guy Steph. He’ll do anything he can to get ejected,” Gobert continued. “I’m proud of myself for being the bigger man again and again. And yeah, he doesn’t even deserve me putting my hands on him. My team needed me tonight,” Gobert added. “I did whatever I could to keep my cool and then show that I wasn’t making the situation worse, and I do hope that the league is going to do what needs to be done because that’s just clown behavior. Not much to say. It’s clown behavior.”
During the interview with ESPN, Draymond was asked about Gobert’s comments, and while it took him a long time to say something, he eventually shared, “No comment is a comment right?”
