Kathy Hilton Talks Reconciliation With Kyle Richards

Bravo alum Kathy Hilton tearfully details her reconciliation with sister Kyle Richards after their relationship was tested during season 12 of RHOBH.

Kathy Hilton got emotional when discussing her recent reconciliation with her sister, Kyle Richards after their relationship fell off the rails while filming season 12 of RHOBH.

In a new interview with Page Six, the socialite recalls how she and the RHOBH OG reunited over the summer.

“When I saw Kyle in Aspen at [sister] Kim [Richards’] daughter’s wedding, I walked [into] a very quiet hair salon, and Kyle, she was getting her hair washed,” Kathy recalled at her “DIRECTV Celebrates Christmas at Kathy’s” party at her Bel Air mansion.  

“She goes, ‘Oh, there’s my sister!’” Kathy continued while her eyes welled up with tears.

“And I was literally like … it made me feel so good,” she said. “I hadn’t seen her yet. But she was so excited telling the person, so it made me feel good.” 

Throughout the family trip to Aspen, the sisters were able to fully repair their relationship.

While chatting with the gossip outlet, Kathy clarified her previous comments about Kyle’s separation from husband, Mauricio Umansky.

“Look, I would love it if they could put it back together. I mean, of course,” Kathy said, adding that the RHOBH OG “is not the type that would just carelessly” throw away her 28-year marriage. 

On Monday, while appearing on TODAY With Hoda and Jenna, Kathy said that she was heartbroken over the news of Kyle and Mauricio’s split but noted: There’s no way that Kyle would’ve gone this far unless she really thought about it.” 

“Well, she says that because she’s confused why people think that it’s not true that we’re actually separated, which I don’t know who would think something like that,” said Kyle, who crashed Kathy’s interview with Page Six.

“But I’m grateful that we’re friends, and we’re navigating this as best as we can,” Kyle continued, noting that she and Mauricio spent a “beautiful” Thanksgiving with their four daughters.

“They do love each other, and they put their children first,” Kathy said before telling Kyle: “And I think you’ll always have those times and celebrate.”

Kathy adds that she hopes Kyle and Mauricio can work through their issues and salvage their marriage.

“You never know,” Kathy said as Kyle admitted that she and Mauricio are “taking it a day at a time right now.”

Meanwhile, Kyle noted that she’s thrilled to be in a great place with Kathy, especially during the holiday season.

“It just feels really nice to be in a great place with my sister,” said Kyle, “especially around the holidays.”
