It’s official! Paige DeSorbo has baby fever.
Days after Craig Conover, 34, was seen telling Paige, 31, they need to “get [her] pregnant,” an idea she immediately shot down, on Southern Charm, Paige admitted to recently feeling like “a mother” as she also discussed her best reality television career moment and spoke of Summer House season eight.
“I feel like when I turned 31 a little bit ago, and it’s the first time I’ve ever had a little bit of a baby fever,” Paige told PEOPLE while attending the 2023 Variety Women of Reality TV event in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “I was holding my dog at my parent’s house and I said, ‘I’m a mother.’”
During last week’s Southern Charm, Craig informed his girlfriend of two years that he’s “always wanted a wife and children,” as she pointed out that “who you marry is the biggest decision of your f*cking life.”
“Also … I still feel like we’re young,” she added.
Although Paige, who is based out of New York, wasn’t ready to consider the idea of marriage and kids at the time the scene was filmed, she told PEOPLE she’s “definitely getting there” when it comes to tying the knot, especially now that she has a social circle in Craig’s hometown of Charleston.
When Paige was then asked about the criticism her and Craig’s romance has gotten from some, many of whom feel she doesn’t like him as much as she leads on, she joked that “some days,” she does.
“No, I think it’s because I am very sarcastic,” she explained. “I am from New York state, so I am a little bit colder than people in the South. I think it’s my humor that sometimes people don’t really get, but all I care about is that if Craig knows that I love him and he definitely does.”
Reflecting on the honor of being named at Wednesday’s event, Paige said, “I’m so grateful to be recognized, especially for Summer House.”
“I’m going to be honest, when I got the email, I was like, I think you guys got the email wrong,” she continued. “This is definitely not for me, a pinch me moment. I’m extremely grateful. I can’t believe I’m even included on a list with all of these women.”
Paige also commented on the nod while chatting with Access Hollywood, stating that her “best moment” in reality television was when she and Hannah Berner, 32, created their Giggy Squad podcast.
“We realized that we had this whole community that not only watched us on reality TV but now can connect with us, come to our live shows, meet us in person, and that is the moment where I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have a job,’” she laughed.
When Craig was then welcomed into the interview, he said Paige’s nod on Variety’s Women of Reality TV list was “awesome” before confirming they were supposed to be on vacation on the night of the event.
“We can go on vacation anytime. This is so awesome and to see the list that she’s included with, all 40 women, is really awesome and I think it’s going to be easier for [her] to look in the mirror and say, ‘You know what? I’m doing pretty good,’” he reasoned.
In addition to her role on Summer House, Paige has been appearing on Southern Charm alongside Craig and says she’d love to join the cast full-time.
“It’s so much fun coming and being on a show where I’m really not in the drama. I’m a big fan of other people’s drama, like everyone, so I love being able to go down, get all the gossip, and then be like, ‘Sorry, I have to get on a plane. Good luck with that. See ya!’” she noted.
And Craig agreed that she was a great addition.
“It’s a great extra ingredient in the mix and I think it was something we were missing and we didn’t know it and I think [she does] a great job at it,” he gushed.
Craig then said that when it comes to Southern Charm, “the dynamics continue to change” amongst the cast as the seasons continue.
“As soon as you think someone’s doing better, they start to mess up and as soon as you think someone has nowhere to go from the bottom, they start to do well. I’m rooting for my friends. But I think we’re gonna see some people have some decisions to make, like, do they go on a righteous path or do they continue to be self-destructive?” he teased.
As for the Summer House cast, Paige said they’ve all been “naughty” this year and that fans will have to wait and see “who’s really on” the naughty list after the reunion.
She also promised its upcoming ninth season would be “so good.”
“Summer House is gonna be really good this season. New relationships [and] different relationship dynamics,” Craig added.
