The New Empire’ Debuts First Trailer & It’s A Blast

The hierarchy of power in the MonsterVerse is about to change forever, as the newest trailer for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire rocks the Earth to its core.

Fans have waited nearly three years for a follow-up to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong. It seems their prayers have finally been answered, with the next MonsterVerse film Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire receiving a brand new trailer filled with action, destruction, and, of course, MONSTERS! This year is shaping up to be the best for MonsterVerse fans in decades. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has been absolutely dominating streaming ratings on Apple TV+, and early reviews of Godzilla Minus One praise it as the best monster movie in years. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire certainly has a tough act to follow, but this trailer proves it can do all that and more.

The return of the MonsterVerse franchise

Fans of the MonsterVerse are sure to be excited by the prospect of seeing these two iconic monsters teaming up once again. The previous film, Godzilla vs. Kong, was a massive success, earning $470.1 million at the worldwide box office. With the promise of even more epic battles and a deeper exploration of the MonsterVerse mythology, The New Empire is sure to be another hit.

Legendary’s MonsterVerse began with 2014’s Godzilla and has since grown to include Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong. At the heart of the franchise has been the secret monster-hunting organization Monarch.

One thing that fans can be sure of is that Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will continue to explore the complex relationship between Godzilla and King Kong, two of the most iconic movie monsters of all time. The previous film saw the two Titans face off before teaming up to stop Mechagodzilla.

Director Adam Wingard is back for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel, with a star-studded cast that includes Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens and Fala Chen. Terry Rossio, Jeremy Slater, Simon Barrett wrote the script.
