NLE Choppa has accepted a plea deal in his case concerning the possession of a firearm and drugs.
The case had been ongoing since March 2021 and concluded on Friday at the Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with the rapper receiving a probation sentence.

Choppa, whose real name is Bryson Potts, struck a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time as he pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and agreed to one-year probation. As a result, they dropped the drug charge.
The specifics of his probation remain undisclosed but may include regular check-ins with a probation officer and a requirement to abide by the law. While on probation, prosecutors are also allowing him to continue traveling domestically and internationally, given the nature of his job.
More Details About NLE Choppa’s Plea Deal
The plea agreement reportedly states that Choppa must complete 40 hours of community service and firearm safety classes in the next 12 months.
Authorities arrested him at the time of the incident and charged him with burglary, drug possession, and carrying a concealed firearm in Broward County, Florida.
Police arrested the rapper shortly after they found him in an allegedly stolen vehicle at a tow yard, accompanied by several other masked men. Police reported that they found various types of drugs and a firearm when they searched the car.
When questioned by cops, NLE Choppa claimed he had hopped over the fence hoping to recover a lost watch in one of the cars at the tow yard. He admitted owning the backpack, allegedly containing Xanax pills and marijuana. However, the rapper alleged he had no knowledge of the guns retrieved in the car.
NLE Choppa Accused Cops Of Setting Him Up
Law enforcement officers charged him with drug possession, burglary, and carrying a concealed firearm, but Choppa later accused them of planting drugs on him because he stood for “something deep.”
Following his arrest in 2021, the ‘Do It Again’ artist vehemently denied any wrongdoing to his fans before alleging that cops had framed him.
He tweeted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “During this arrest I was setup, substances were planted on me that I don’t consume/use/own, my name was lied upon, and I was even mistreated in the process… The case will be beat and I will walk a free man, remember it’s innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent…”
