B.G. and Gucci Mane just dropped off their joint mixtape, Choppers & Bricks, and the pair has revealed that they equally impressed each other as they were putting the project together.

The Southern rap legends sat down with the Rap Radar Podcast in an interview published on Thursday (December 14), where they gave each other their flowers for the verses they each put down.

“When he told me let’s do the tape and start sending me records, it became apparent to me soon like damn, all these songs hard,” La Flare said.

B.G. added: “I ain’t lying, though – there was a couple of records that I sent and he sent back that I wanted to change my verse on. I called him like, ‘Wop, man, you crushed me on this one! I think I might need to go back in.’ But I ain’t go back in and touch it though. And he’d hit me like, ‘Aw man you got off on this record!’ And I’m like aight yeah, that’s what’s up. But yeah, it was a friendly competition but I think we pushed each other to go hard and it came out to be what it is.”

You can check out the conversation and stream the tape below.

The 13-track project features appearances from Mike WiLL Made-It, C Murder and more.

Choppers & Bricks serves as B.G.’s first full-length project since he was released from prison in September after spending more than a decade behind bars.

The former Cash Money rapper has kept busy since coming home as he’s released a handful of singles and appeared on tracks with E-40, Kevin Gates, Boosie Badazz, Maino and more.

Even before B.G. regained his freedom, Guwop pledged his support to the rap veteran by proclaiming he had a $1 million record deal on the table to bring Gizzle to the 1017 family.

“My 1017 family help me welcome home the living legend @BGHollyHood!” Gucci wrote on X (formerly Twitter) last year following rumors that B.G. had been released from prison, which were later debunked.

“Glad u home bruh! Got so much love and respect for u as a man and artist! Get at me, I got a milli for u! Wanna sign u to 1017!!!!! #1017Mafia [money bag emojis].”

Following his eventual release earlier this year, Birdman sought to fend off the competition by declaring that B.G. would be rejoining his former label home, Cash Money Records.

“For the record, I just want n-ggas to know that my n-gga [B.G.] official Cash Money — ain’t no cap in that,” he said during an appearance on The 85 South Show.

“Ya heard me? Ain’t nobody he can ever sign with beside this shit. I’m bringing all this shit together. B.G. signed to Cash Money so y’all don’t got to hear it from nowhere else.”

In 2012, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice stemming from a 2009 traffic stop arrest.
