Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom swims into theaters in just over a week. A new promo for the DC Universe film shows off an epic adventure with Arthur Curry and Orm.
Most of the promotional material for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom has focused on the power struggle between Arthur Curry and Black Manta for the Black Trident. However, this newest set of footage takes a much lighter tone, focusing on the buddy-cop adventures the Defender of the Deep has with his brother Orm.
It’s certainly an interesting approach for James Wan to take Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom in a more lighthearted direction. Jason Momoa has always been great at playing the bombastic DC hero, and his performance as Arthur Curry appears to be no different. Here’s to hoping his adventure with Orm turns out as epic as it looks!
The future of the DC Universe
James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom still slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
