Raven-Symoné Honors Late Brother Blaize On His 32nd Birthday

Raven-Symoné took to social media to pay a moving tribute to her late brother, Blaize, on what would have been his 32nd birthday.

On Saturday (December 16), she posted a sentimental caption to a carousel of throwback videos and photos of her sibling, who died from colon cancer in November, per The Los Angeles Times.

“Happy Birthday @cblaizep,” she started off by saying. “You were intelligent, kind, stubborn and the peacemaker of the bunch. Your humor and willingness to try anything will be cherished and maintained by those you left behind. Your grace and selflessness in the final days is something to be admired.”

“I love, miss and will always be Reva to my lil brother,” Raven-Symoné added. “So many words to describe you, so many moments to remember you by, so many lives you’ve touched, and so many random things you’ve eaten.”

Raven-Symoné’s Shared A Close Bond With Blaize

Her social media post was more than just a commemoration of his birthday, it was a testament to the bond they shared as siblings. The Disney alum stressed the importance of looking after yourself because “life is short” not to be taking care of one’s mental and physical well-being.

Additionally, she felt that too many young people had been leaving this world due to health issues, as she continued,

“Life is short, and shorter if you don’t take care of your health. Get screened, tested, regularly doctor visits, don’t ingest poison disguised as food, exercise, and take care of your mental health.”

Raven-Symoné Announced Her Brother’s Passing Days Prior

She shared the heart-wrenching news of her brother Blaize’s death in an Instagram post on Monday (December 11).

While thanking those who wished her a happy 38th birthday, the actress broke the news to fans about her brother’s passing while shedding light on his cancer battle.

“Thank you [for] all the love yesterday. It was felt beyond. Hard to fully celebrate knowing that I’m here and he is not,” she wrote. “It was a little bittersweet for me to be honest because last month I lost my brother, Blaize. He was battling colon cancer for about two years and he is in a better place now. He’s loved and missed and the emotions that have been weaving in and out of my body and mind and my family have been a roller coaster.”
