Jury Duty was one of the biggest surprise hits of 2023, and at the center was a stellar and hilarious performance by James Marsden as literally himself. I mean, his response to being asked if he’s ever served on a jury before and he simply says, “Uh, yes ma’am. Cannes,” is probably one of my favorite line reads of the year. Alongside Ronald Gladden, the show’s unwitting star, James is so playful and fun in this role, and it allowed him to showcase his strong comedic talents, which were also evident in his recent work in Dead to Me. For years, James has been such a pleasant addition to countless movies and shows, and for Jury Duty, I’m so glad he was finally given a chance to be front and center.
