Glen Powell has had his fair share of large roles throughout his acting career, and he often tries to get his parents involved in them via cameo roles at the same time.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Powell spoke about his parents, and how the pair appear in a scene in Anyone But You in which Sydney Sweeney is attempting to do yoga over Powell, but is seen by his mother.

Powell said that his parents have had a cameo in nearly every movie he’s done, and joked that they are now “too comfortable” and have turned into nepo parents on movie sets as a result.

“I think they’re a little too comfortable now,” said Powell. “Because they’ve had a cameo in basically every single movie I’ve done, you know? So at first, they were really excited for me to get new roles and stuff, and now all they’re concerned about is what they are going to do in the movie. It’s like, there’s a nepo baby, they’re more like nepo mommy and nepo daddy.”

What is Anyone But You about?

Anyone But You is directed by Will Gluck from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ilana Wolpert. The filmmaker is best known for his directorial work on romantic comedies Easy A and Friends with Benefits, as well as Peter Rabbit movies. Joining Sweeney and Powell are Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel Griffiths, Michelle Hurd, Bryan Brown, Darren Barnet and Hadley Robinson.

“In the film, Bea and Ben look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold – until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia,” reads the synopsis. “So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.”

The project is executive produced by Sweeney, Natalie Sellers, Alyssa Altman, and Jacqueline Monetta, with Gluck, Joe Roth, and Jeff Kirschenbaum as producers.
