With Toho’s Godzilla Minus One doing so well at the box office and audiences loving the film, the movie is extending its U.S. theatrical run, which is exciting! I’ve already seen the movie once in theaters, and I plan on experiencing it one more time on the big screen. The film’s limited run has now been extended to December 14th.

Godzilla Minus One pulled in $11 million in its domestic debut, giving it the all-time highest opening weekend for a Japanese live-action movie in U.S. theaters.

If you haven’t watched this movie yet, go see it! You won’t be disappointed. It not only delivers a great story, but it also offers the most terrifying version of Godzilla yet. Seriously, this is easily one of the best Godzilla movies ever made. It’s a shame that Legendary won’t learn anything from it.

Toho’s Godzilla Minus One, written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, sees an already devastated post-World War II Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla.

The movie is set in Japan 1945-1947. “After the war, Japan has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state. Against the most desperate situation in the history of Japan, how — and with whom — will Japan stand up to it?”

The movie currently has a 96% critic score and a 98% audience score and it also has an A on CinemaScore.
