Fans are slamming Dorit Kemsley over a controversial post about “living in [her] bubble,” which came after Garcelle Beauvais called out her ‘bubble’ of privilege on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
In the latest episode, Dorit spotlighted Sutton Stracke‘s makeout session with her driver. But when Garcelle accused Dorit of trying to embarrass Sutton, Dorit claimed Garcelle was ‘attack[ing]’ her. During a confessional, Garcelle suggested that Dorit doesn’t live in a “woke” world – but rather a bubble.
“Happily living in my bubble,” declared Dorit in the caption of a December 20 Instagram post, alongside a photo of her in a shirt that read, ’90’s SUPERMODEL.’
Her caption is a reference to Garcelle’s diss, seemingly suggesting she doesn’t care.
Fans, however, did care, and they offered their opinions in the comments.
“This caption isn’t doing what you think it’s doing, Dorit…” wrote one viewer.
“You can live in your bubble all you want but using language like attack because a black women says something to you you don’t like is very damaging, and I definitely feel like you and your privilege bubble know this. You were definitely trying to embarrass and use the make out comment against Sutton,” added another.
A third viewer asked Dorit to “educate” herself on “white privilege, racism and microagressions,” and they told her she’s “embarrassing” herself.
A fourth fan pointed out how Dorit is wearing a ’90’s supermodel’ shirt while Garcelle “actually was a 90s supermodel.”
“This caption shows your naivety, and anyone who doesn’t understand where Garcelle is coming from is uneducated as well!” exclaimed a fifth user.
Other viewers, however, were critical of Garcelle.
“[Garcelle and castmates] get hurt by words yet they don’t take a moment to educate themselves on other people’s history or cultures,” said one fan, addressing Dorit’s Israeli ancestry. “Us Jews have been through the holocaust … not even 100 years have passed so to call a Jewish woman privileged is just wild.”
“Great outfit, but being called a racist because you use the word ‘attack?’ That’s ridiculous,” claimed another. “Garcelle’s triggers are her problem and nobody else is.”
