Cardi B and Offset may no longer be together, but the former couple apparently still have some lose ends to tie up from when they were.
According to documents obtained by TMZ on Friday (December 22), the pair are being sued by the landlord of a Beverly Hills house they rented in 2022, alleging they abruptly left without notice this past October and left a balance – as well as a mess.
According to the landlord, Cardi and Set were behind on rent and utility payments when they left and there is “significant property damage” to the tune of around $85,000 – including “permanent scratches in the tile floors, rugs, and curtains, broken furniture, holes in the walls, and burn marks on things like tables, counters, and cabinets.”
The October vacancy seems to line up with when the pair called it quits. Earlier this month, Cardi B revealed she’d split from Offset amid claims the former Migos rapper had slept with Blueface’s ex, Chrisean Rock.
In an Instagram Live, Cardi said she doesn’t believe the claims that her husband slept with the reality star a month ago, but took the speculation “as a sign” that it’s time for her to move on, which she’s “excited” about.
“I’ve been single for a minute now,” she began. “I know today has been an eventful day. I don’t pay mind to none of that. I don’t care about none of that. I don’t know if y’all been getting clues from me from my Lives, from my Stories, when I put certain music [up] or from my unfollowings.”
She continued: “I have been afraid to — not afraid — I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live, I kinda wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind.
“But it has been like this for a minute now. I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited! New look, new life, new everything […] I’ve been going so hard for 2024 to go directly as I want it to. I feel like in 2017 I was single, and that’s when I worked the hardest.”
