Skye Townsend (Black Lady Sketch Show) has joined the cast of the CBS comedy The Neighborhood for Season 6 in a recurring role. The show returns with new episodes on February 12.
Townsend’s character Courtney is loosely based on Sarah Francis Jones, girlfriend of The Neighborhood star Marcel Spears, and her real-life experience going into labor at a Beyoncé Renaissance concert.
Courtney is described as very smart—she entered MIT at 16 and worked at JPL before 21— very cool, very outgoing and with a great sense of humor. She worked with Marty (Spears) at JPL and he’s recently hired her as an electrical engineer at The Fuse Box. A few months back, they hooked up and now Courtney is pregnant. She’s very upfront about the fact that she likes Marty, but she won’t marry him.
