Lala Kent denies she’s “jealous” of Ariana Madix and insists her shady “God” comment in season 11 trailer was “taken out of context.”
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent denies that she’s “jealous” of co-star Ariana Madix, whose success has skyrocketed since her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s affair with Rachel “Racquel” Leviss was uncovered earlier this year.
Since Scandoval, Ariana has scored numerous endorsement deals from brands like Lays, Glad, Lip Lab, Tidy Cat, Duracell, and many more. She also launched her second cocktail book, was a finalist on Dancing With the Stars, appeared on the cover of Glamour magazine, and will star as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway starting in January.
In the Vanderpump Rules season 11 trailer, Lala Kent can be heard telling co-star Scheana Shay, “I have never experienced someone who gets cheated on and suddenly becomes God.”
Bravo fans quickly assumed that Lala Kent‘s comment made it clear that she was envious of Ariana’s success.
However, Lala Kent cleared the air on a recent Amazon Live.
“I have always been a fan of hers. I think that shows throughout the years,” the 33-year-old told viewers. “Have we had our ups and downs? Absolutely. But to see my friend thrive after such heartbreak? I am so happy for her, and I am so proud of her.”
The Give Them Lala podcast host said that Ariana “belonged” on Dancing With the Stars and said her co-star is “as talented as it gets.”
She also thinks Ariana deserves her role as Roxy Hart on Broadway.
“The girl can dance, the girl has pipes, the girl can act,” Lala Kent said, adding that Ariana “deserves everything that is coming her way.”
According to the mom of one, her “God” comment from the season 11 trailer was “taken out of context.” In fact, the 33-year-old believes Vanderpump Rules fans are “going to be surprised as to why” she said it.
Lala explained, “That’s what the trailer is meant to do. It riled everyone up, everyone is talking about the trailer, everyone is giving their feedback, people are arguing in the comments section — that’s what we want.”
“The second no one has an opinion on the television we’re making, we no longer have a show,” she added.
“So whether ya love me, ya can’t stand me, you think I’m incredible or you think I’m jealous, it’s all the same to me. My name stays in your mouth. I want Ariana’s name to stay in your mouth. I want you to eat and breathe Vanderpump Rules.”
Vanderpump Rules premires on Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
