Supergirl is set to get her own movie in the new DC Universe. However, it seems she may have a more humorous debut in Superman: Legacy.
With the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow project starting to take form in the upcoming DC Universe, it was only a matter of time until fans got casting news for the Girl of Steel. However, the character may be different than they expected, with a new rumor by r/DCEULeaks suggesting James Gunn is looking for the heroine to be “humorous with [a] punk rock edginess” in Superman: Legacy.
Having an edge isn’t a foreign concept to different incarnations of Supergirl, especially as the rumor reveals this toughness would stem from her witnessing the destruction of Krypton as a child. It seems as though James Gunn will be shooting to have a much more world-weary incarnation of the heroine in Superman: Legacy, which seems to be both a great change of pace and an olive branch to fans of Sasha Calle’s version of the character in The Flash.
