Kyle Richards shared a message about post-traumatic growth and heartbreaks on Instagram on Tuesday amid her separation from Mauricio Umansky.
After the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, and her estranged husband, 53, spent the holidays as a family with their daughters in Aspen, and after Mauricio was spotted with a slew of younger women, Kyle posted an Instagram Story that seemed to reference their split.
In her December 26 post, post-traumatic growth was described as “the acceptance of negative past experiences or events which can often make you feel more focused, compassionate, spiritual, and aware of your strengths and possibilities than before.”
Kyle also included a caption from Health, who shared the original post, that read, “There’s no sugarcoating it: Sometimes, life hurts. Losses, heartbreaks, and setbacks of all kinds can strongly affect anyone.”
In other Kyle Richards news, the RHOBH cast member was able to facilitate the preventative double mastectomy Morgan went last month after testing positive for a cancer gene through Mission Plasticos, a nonprofit organization that offers free surgical care to the uninsured or underinsured.
“Breast cancer has impacted my family, and I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate the healthcare system, the procedures it can entail, the emotional and physical ramifications it can have,” Kyle revealed to PEOPLE on December 21. “When Morgan told me what she was dealing with in terms of her health, I knew Mission Plasticos would be an incredible resource.”
According to Susan Williamson, the executive director of Mission Plasticos, Morgan’s surgery, along with reconstruction surgery, could have cost her around $100,000 had they not been involved.
As RHOBH fans may have heard, is producing a documentary about Morgan’s health journey and was at the hospital when she went under the knife, along with a camera crew and Morgan’s mom, Robin.
Speaking to PEOPLE herself, Morgan said that while she’s gotten past the worst of the pain, she’s still getting used to her new body, sans nipples.
“I’m still processing how different my body looks in that regard,” she shared. “As tough as it is to look in the mirror right now for me… [the scars will] heal up and it’ll be good.”
The outlet also noted that Morgan will have the option of getting 3D nipples on her breast implants or having them tattooed on once she’s healed.
Earlier this month, on the four-week anniversary of her surgery, Morgan took to Instagram with an update for her fans and followers.
“Saturday marked [four] weeks since my double mastectomy and reconstruction. I’ve slowly been getting better with each day and following the doctors orders despite my mother worrying I wouldn’t,” Morgan began, along with a crying-while-laughing emoji. “I was cleared to walk immediately and then cleared to lift [five pounds] per arm for bicep curls and tricep kickbacks. I could also do a lot of legs and leg lifts for abs.”
“Today I was able to move up in weight and even did a little back but still taking it VERY easy. In about [two] weeks I should be good to move back to powerlifting,” she continued. “This has honestly been one of the hardest things about this surgery. Lifting and running have helped me tremendously with my mental health and my sobriety. I have learned how much I have taken for granted in life. Not just lifting weights but simple things like washing my own hair and raising my arms. I must add that it was very humbling to have to get help getting to the bathroom and showering.”
Also with her post, Morgan said she was feeling “so blessed” to have the opportunity to take her health into her own hands.
“When I was struggling with the drains I just reminded myself that my Aunt was one year older than me when she was diagnosed. And not only did she have drains but she had to do chemo and radiation on top of that. So I am extra grateful for my journey,” Morgan explained.
“Here’s to continued healing and getting in the best shape of my life and taking things more seriously from here on out about my health,” she added. “Thanks for all the prayers, messages, flowers, cards, [and] food. Love you all.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
