Real Housewives of Atlanta OG Kim Zolicak may have showered her kids with presents this Christmas her estranged husband Kroy Biermann chose a different way to show his kids how much he loves them.
Despite Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s messy divorce and mounting financial troubles that didn’t stop the 45-year-old mom of six from enjoying the holidays and spoiling her kids with gifts.
“Kim sold a bunch of stuff to buy her children gifts this year,” an insider told Us Weekly of the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum. “She wanted to give them a good Christmas.”
The estranged couple, who starred on their Bravo reality TV show, Don’t Be Tardy, “did not buy gifts together for their kids.”
Kim and Kroy share Kroy “KJ” Jr., 12, and Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 10 together. The former NFL star is also the adoptive father of Kim Zolciak’s daughters from previous relationships, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 22.
“Kroy didn’t buy a single gift for them,” the source said. “He either didn’t want to spend the money or didn’t have the money.”
According to Kroy’s attorney, Marlys A. Bergstrom, instead of buying material things for his kids he opted to give them a different type of gift this Christmas.
“Kroy did not buy gifts, a.k.a, ‘stuff’ for the children,” the 38-year-old’s attorney told Us Weekly in a statement. “He didn’t sell purses, shoes, or wigs to get cash to turn into material goods; no argument, that was all Kim.”
The statement continued, “What Kroy did give to his children for Christmas was his TIME and undivided attention. He took his children to church and then he cooked a big dinner for the family. Kroy gave his children the gift of time and Christmas memories, not just more stuff. Once the children opened the presents, Kim spent the rest of the day in her living space in the basement.”
In recent months, Kim has been selling items from her and Kroy’s closet on social media in hopes of making a quick buck amid their mounting financial woes.
On December 16, Kim launched the Instagram page called @kimzbcloset. “Shop all things from Kim’s Closet ??,” reads the bio of the Instagram page. “Send me a DM with the item you want and we will go from there. I appreciate your support ??.”
On top selling her own bags, wigs, and shoes, Kim is also trying to offload Kroy’s six-piece Louis Vuitton men’s luggage set for $12500 that the former NFL star only used once.
The former Bravo stars filed for divorce in May after 11 years of marriage. After a brief reconciliation in July, Kroy filed for divorce once again in August.
Amid their split, the former couple are facing loads of money issues. In October they put their Georgia mansion on the market for $6.5 million in hopes of selling it off before the home fell into foreclosure. Then in December they dropped the sale price to $5.5 million in hope is that the price cut would get someone to bite and purchase the property.
The two have until January 11, 2024, to sell their home before Truist Bank moves forward with the foreclosure proceedings.
Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million in back taxes. They also have been hit with various other lawsuits over unpaid credit cards and outstanding gambling debts.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to return for season 16 in 2024.
