Rosamund Pike came into her own as an actress with a spectacular role — she played Miranda Frost opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 Bond movie Die Another Day. The Sun reports that Robie, (who at 62 is 17 years Rosamund’s senior,) met Rosamund at a party, though they’ve kept details of the relationship’s origins mostly private. In a 2019 interview, she described businessman and mathematician Robie as a feminist. “…It’s a thing I prize highly and appreciate daily,” she told the Guardian. “Someone who’s self-confident enough and secure enough to deal with this crazy… It is crazy, how our life is. Just the constant shifting. The fact we keep any form of routine is quite remarkable, really.”

He’s Been Married Twice Before
Robie was previously married to English actress Emma Howard. He was also previously married to an interior designer Rose Uniacke. Robie reportedly has four children across his previous relationships, according to TODAY.
In a 2012 interview with Vogue (via Us Weekly,) Rosamund explained why marriage isn’t on the table for the longtime lovers. “You try to do the right thing and the conventional thing, and it doesn’t work, and then you’re free again,” she said, nodding to her failed engagement to Joe Wright. “It is interesting to break all the rules. I’m not married, I have a baby, and it feels infinitely more right.”
He’s Invested in Rosamund’s Career
Robie apparently cares about Rosamund’s career. In a 2014 interview, she explained how he helps her with her roles. “I have a very clever partner who’s got a very astute mind and is very, very well-read and articulate and ruthless about how something I do might play out on screen,” she told the Telegraph at the time. “My tendency is to identify with a character and imagine there is more on the page than there is. He’s quite good at putting a check on that.”

They Have 2 Children
The couple have welcomed two sons, Atom, 9, and Solo, 11, together. According to a 2021, interview, the boys both speak Mandarin and have attempted to teach their famous mom the language. “I’ve got my kids homeschooling me,” she told Graham Norton during a remote video interview. “Because my kids speak Mandarin, and I don’t.”
Rosamund explained that Robie thought it would be “exciting” to teach them a new language. “So he taught himself Chinese from the ground up,” she recalled. “Well, you could call it brilliant, or you could call it really stubborn, or you could call it a kind of desire for single parenting. He’s basically talking to them in a language I don’t understand so I thought maybe lockdown was a good opportunity for me to catch up.”
