Brian Austin Green couldn’t be prouder of Ian Ziering, who bravely defended himself against a biker gang on New Year’s Eve.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star recently weighed in on his former cast member’s incredible feat, airing his support for Ziering and his fighting skills. The latter, unfortunately, ended 2023 on a low note following a heated encounter with several assailants.

Shortly after Ziering opened up about his unfortunate New Year’s Eve experience, Green addressed the matter on his Instagram Story. The actor filmed himself while driving, telling viewers how proud he was of his pal’s triumph against the odds.
“Hey, so I didn’t get a chance to get into this at all. My boy Ian Ziering got into a fistfight on Hollywood Boulevard with like five dudes, and f—ing like beat them, did it, did his thing,” he said before lauding Ziering with praises. In Green’s words:
“He’s a monster. He’s f—ing incredibly fit, obviously. I would not suggest to anyone to fight people, especially not now in this climate. But, you know what? All turned out well. Z, I love you, brother, you’re a beast; good on you.”
While Green proudly showered his pal with love, Ziering took a humble stance when recalling his brawl against the biker gang. He had been driving with one of his two daughters when their vehicle was unfortunately targeted in the middle of traffic.
“Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” the father of two recounted in an Instagram post. “While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders, leading to an unsettling confrontation.”
“In an attempt to assess any damage, I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself,” he continued, noting that he and his daughter safely escaped the terrifying situation.
Ziering stressed that the encounter left a lasting impression on his mind, and he was worried about the poor state of the streets with these violent groups at large. In his words:
“I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”
“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior,” Ziering declared. “As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”
The 59-year-old added that he has always “been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct” and that the fight with the biker gang reinforced his “belief in the importance of personal and community safety.”
True to his words, videos from the incident captured Ziering’s car surrounded by a group of bikers. After exiting his vehicle, the actor got into a heated exchange with one of the bikers, leading to a physical fight.
He was also seen comforting his daughter, who appeared visibly shaken by the violent encounter. Ziering further implored authorities to step up their game in his video, begging them to “address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone.”

A year before his New Year’s Eve brawl, Ziering finalized his separation from his former wife, Erin Kristine Ludwig. The Blast obtained the ex-couple’s divorce settlement in 2022, revealing how they split their properties.
Ziering was told to pay a tax-free sum of $362,500, which would divide the former spouses’ community property and assets. Per their agreement, the actor would keep several guns in his collection, including a Dan Wesson revolver, a Sig Sauer 229, and a Remmington Shotgun.
The “Sharknado” star retained ownership of his 1960 Corvette and a timeshare in Cabo San Lucas. Additionally, he got to keep the proceeds from selling his ex-lover’s engagement ring because he owned the jewelry before the duo even met.
As for the profits he earned from acting, Ziering was allowed to keep residuals from his “90210” days; however, his ex-wife would share in the money brought in by newer projects like “Sharknado.” The settlement read:
“All contractual rights and/or duties, including but not limited to rights to all sequels, income, and/or residuals for movies, television shows, cartoons, and/or other acting/entertainment jobs resulting in any future rights completed prior to May 28, 2010 (date of marriage).”
