Katie Flood Shares Status of Romance With Tom Schwartz

Below Deck Mediterranean has seen its fair share of cast members in various roles. However, one person most viewers agree was great in the role of chief stew was Katie Flood. Katie hasn’t been on the show in a while, but fans got a full dose of her from Winter House.

Katie is now sharing what it might take for her to return to the show, as well as providing an update on her romance with Tom Schwartz.

Regarding her time on Winter House, fans will recall that Tom asked her out at the end of season three. After that, there was a rumor that she had a sex-related injury after their date. Of course, Andy asked about the rumor on the recent Winter House reunion. Katie denied the rumor, but she wouldn’t answer directly about whether they hooked up or not. 

As for where they stand now, Katie and Tom are still cool and speak “sporadically.” However, they are not dating because they’re both busy.

During a December 5 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Katie shared more details on her status with Tom.

“We’re definitely friends,” said Katie. “I think we have a very flirtatious and cheeky relationship. I will say I’m really happy we managed to keep it very light … We still are very happy to see each other, to be in each other’s presence.”

She added: “I adore Schwartz, I love him, I think he’s amazing and I’ll only really have good things to say. Does he make some questionable decisions? Absolutely, but I think he’s trying to learn and be better from that.”

As fans will recall, Katie made her debut on season six of Below Deck Med. She was chief steward, and Malia was the bosun. As is still the case, Captain Sandy was in charge. 

According to Monsters & Critics, Katie recently did an Instagram Q&A with her fans. One fan asked, “Will you ever come back to Below Deck and/or Winter House?!” 

Katie’s response to the question regarding her future on reality TV was “ask @Bravo.”

This response is in alignment with how Katie has previously discussed her comeback to the Below Deck universe. She has said before that she would love to return. However, she wants to work with Malia again. As for why Katie originally left Below Deck Med, she reportedly wanted more out of her career after being in the yachting industry for so long. 

Hopefully, fans will see her back in future seasons of Below Deck Med. It seems she would fit in as she still has friends on the cast.
