Cedric The Entertainer is firing back after Katt Williams recently continued to allege that the comedian stole a joke of his. According to Complex, Williams initially made the allegation against Cedric in June 2021.

More Details Regarding Katt Williams’ Initial Comments
According to Complex, Katt Williams appeared as a guest on ‘The Morning Hustle’ radio show on June 8, 2021. The live sitdown was then uploaded on YouTube.
In the audio clip, Williams accused Cedric The Entertainer of using one of his jokes to close out the “Kings of Comedy” tour. According to the tour’s official YouTube page, the line-up featured Cedric and fellow comedians DL Hughley, Steve Harvey, and the late Bernie Mac.
The Standard-Times reports that the tour ran from 1997-1999 and grossed over $37 million.
During the sitdown, Williams explained that he was “crushed” after Cedric used his joke about a space shuttle.
“When it initially happened to me, it crushed me because the comedian was already bigger and more famous than me and he took my closing joke and made it his closing joke on Kings of Comedy,” he explained said. “The reason it hit so bad was that I was in the theater. I paid my money to go see Kings of Comedy and to see my joke being there and not me was about as disrespectful as it gets in our craft and I took it really personally with Cedric The Entertainer at that time.”
Ultimately, Williams explained that the ordeal “saddened” him. However, he implied that he didn’t approach Cedric about it because their encounter could get violent.
“I’m not that type of comedian. I’m going in your mouth where the joke is when you steal my jokes, and I have a reputation in this industry that if you steal my joke, you’re gonna be missing a tooth or two,” he explained. “I don’t play like that.”
A few days later, Cedric took to Instagram to explain that he had “no idea” what Williams was “talking about.” Additionally, Cedric denied stealing Williams’ joke.
“To all my peoples hitting me about the @kattwilliams commentary, I say no sir !! That joke has roots, tied into so many other of my jokes… To know me is know most of my jokes a very similar animated, characters acted out sense of humor. I’ve had jokes stolen, I’ve had similar premises to others as well, but that joke has DNA thats over 30 yrs old specifically from Me. Cigarette hanging from the lip and all,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram video.

Katt Williams Doubles Down On The Allegations
Then, on Wednesday, January 3, a new episode of Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, ‘Club Shay Shay,’ was released. The episode featured Katt Williams as a guest.
During the sit down, Williams spoke about his role in ‘Friday After Next’ and also accused Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainment, Faizon Love, and Earthquake of acting like a “gang” against him.
Additionally, the comedian even doubled down on accusing Cedric The Entertainer of stealing his space shuttle joke. Furthermore, Williams explained his joke received widespread attention and was heard by Cedric two years before he allegedly stole it.
During his sentiments, Williams also took a few shots at Cedric and his career.

Cedric The Entertainer apparently caught wind of Katt Williams’ statements and took to Instagram to respond.
“Revisionist History. Regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career cannot be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been [in] over 40 movies, my specials and brands speak volumes for I am,” Cedric wrote. “And all that tough talk! Is corny af I’m [a] grown a** man And none of that s**t gonna go like you think. You do you I got this over here..”
At this time, Katt Williams has not publicly reacted to Cedric The Entertainer’s response. However, social media users have shared their thoughts on the matter in The Shade Room’s comment section.
