Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who coerced an online boyfriend into killing her mother as part of a plot to assist her in escaping the matriarch’s control, is out on parole.
In the aftermath of that release, it has now emerged that Gypsy Rose is prohibited from having any contact with the former flame she recruited to do the deed.
The Courts Want No Communication Between Gypsy Rose Blanchard & Nick Godejohn
Gypsy’s early release from prison last week sparked a flurry of media attention, marking a dramatic beginning to her life outside jail.
The flutter became even louder when onlookers learned of the Missouri native’s parole conditions, including being banned from communicating with Nick Godejohn, the ex-boyfriend convicted of murdering her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Her parole conditions explicitly state that she cannot talk to him, whether through email, text, writing, or even through any third party. The 32-year-old, who is currently back home in Louisiana with her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson, is also required to complete an outpatient mental health program.
Additionally, per the legal documents obtained by TMZ, Gypsy is not subjected to house arrest after serving seven years in prison for second-degree murder. A judge previously handed her a ten-year sentence after she confessed to orchestrating the murder plan during her 2016 trial.
Unfortunately, her co-conspirator faced a more severe punishment, receiving life in prison without the possibility of parole. Nick assisted his then-girlfriend in her mother’s murder after connecting with her on a dating site for Christian singles.
As reported by U.S. media, the ex-lovebirds were online buddies for two years before finally meeting in person for a movie date. The subsequent in-person meeting occurred when Nick traveled from Wisconsin to Missouri to execute Gypsy’s plan to murder Dee Dee.
Extensive text exchanges where they hashed out plans to marry, start a family, and even had names chosen for their children were unveiled during the pair’s court trials. They eventually executed their murder plan on June 9, 2015.
Gypsy later recounted how she and Dee Dee shared manicures on the night of the crime before putting the latter to sleep and assuring her that she would be a “good girl” in the 2017 documentary film, “Mommy Dead and Dearest.”
During Dee Dee’s deep sleep, Nick entered their residence and fatally stabbed her, while Gypsy kept out of sight in the bathroom. Gypsy subsequently claimed that she initially reconsidered killing her mother but ultimately decided to proceed after a heated argument.
In court, she underscored her role in convincing her ex to commit the act, stating, “I did. I talked him into it.” Following the murder, the former couple reportedly stole $4,000 from Dee Dee’s room, checked into a Springfield hotel, and eventually traveled to Nick’s home in Wisconsin.
Despite their seemingly carefree demeanor, Nick, who had no history of violence before the incident, expressed regret for killing Dee Dee. In fact, according to him, and as reported by The Blast, Gypsy had to console him as he could not stop crying over what he had done.
He said, “I felt horrible about it. When me and her were in the hotel room… she [Gypsy] kept on telling me, ‘Stop crying, stop crying. There’s no reason to cry. It was my idea, it wasn’t yours.’ I did what I did because I loved her. I really wanted a life with her, I really did.”
Dee Dee’s Lies Prevented Gypsy From Learning About Her Body Until Her Imprisonment
Amid celebrating her December 28 release, Gypsy recently shared that she never learned how to use tampons until she went to prison.
Despite being well into her 20s when she was sentenced, it turned out that her late mother never taught her how to use tampons due to frequent lies about her age. Reflecting on that experience, she detailed during an interview:
“It was not your typical, ‘OK, so I’m going to take you to a store and we’re going to get you a training bra, we’re going to get you pads and tampons.’ There was none of that. So it was very abnormally learned, and unfortunately, I had to basically come to prison with the skills that [Dee Dee] taught me, which was not much.”
Shedding more light in an interview for the Lifetime docuseries, “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” Gypsy asserted that Dee Dee made her wear a diaper during her menstruation. Upon entering prison, Gypsy had to learn more about her body. On that, she recalled:
“[In prison] I’m around women that have been around the block or two, and they have a lot of life experience. Maybe it’s not the best life experience, but I’ve been able to gain some positives from being around other inmates.”
