Gypsy Rose Blanchard just revealed one of the most shocking confessions about life behind bars.
As you know, the former convict — who was a victim of Munchausen by proxy at the hands of her mother — went to prison in 2015 for being involved in the murder of her mom Dee Dee Blanchard.
She was sentenced to 10 years behind bars but only spent seven years locked up before her highly-celebrated release on December 28, 2023.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Never Learned How To Use Tampons
Gypsy recently opened up about never learning how to use tampons until she went to prison. Although she was well into her 20s when she was sentenced, Gypsy revealed she was never taught how to use tampons by her mom because she was often lied to about her age.
“It was not your typical, ‘OK, so I’m going to take you to a store and we’re going to get you a training bra, we’re going to get you pads and tampons,’” she recalled about her upbringing. “There was none of that. So it was very abnormally learned, and unfortunately, I had to basically come to prison with the skills that [Dee Dee] taught me, which was not much.”
Gypsy in a teaser for her upcoming docuseries “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” explained that Dee Dee made her wear a diaper during her menstruation. However, that changed when she got to prison.
“[In prison] I’m around women that have been around the block or two, and they have a lot of life experience,” she revealed to People Magazine. “Maybe it’s not the best life experience, but I’ve been able to gain some positives from being around other inmates.”
Gypsy’s highly-anticipated docuseries is expected to premiere on January 5 and she is bound to spill bombshell details about her tumultuous life both in and out of prison. However, before then, the 32-year-old is enjoying her life as a free and married woman.
Gypsy was picked up from Chillicothe Correctional Center in northern Missouri by her husband Ryan Anderson in a Cadillac Sedan with a license plate that read “HITMAN” and a camera crew behind him. Gypsy tied the knot to Anderson in June during a prison wedding.
However, his elaborate presence at the prison pickup didn’t sit well with fans who speculated he was with Gypsy for only her fame.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Defends Husband
Amid the criticism, Gypsy came to her husband’s defense. Underneath one of Anderson’s Instagram posts, Gypsy encouraged her man, writing, “Ryan, don’t listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me. We don’t owe anyone anything. Our family is who matters.”
She continued, “If you get likes and good comments, great, if you get hate, then whatever because THEY DONT MATTER.”
The former convict then stuck it to her haters, declaring that their source of jealousy is “because you are rocking my world every night…yeah, I said it, the D is [fire]. Happy wife happy life.” A happy Anderson then responded, “Who said I gave a damn about what these jealous people say anyway, haha…now come get it, Baby…”
Blanchard and Anderson first crossed paths when he sent her a letter in 2020. Anderson was inspired by the 2017 HBO documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest.” Their connection blossomed, and two years later, they tied the knot.
Gypsy and Anderson recently spoke about their lives together, admitting that they are anxious about navigating disagreements.
“I think the only fear that I have is, honestly, just making sure that we have good conflict [resolution],” Gypsy confessed. “I’m a very ‘in the moment’ type of person, so I want to make sure if we have an argument, I want to clear it up in the moment. He is … the opposite, where he has to sit on things and think about it, and then come back a couple hours later and resolve it.”
The pair have only been in a long-distance relationship since they began dating but they are excited about the prospect of living together.
