Nia Long and her ex-fiancé Ime Udoka have reportedly reached a custody settlement regarding their 12-year-old son. As The Shade Room previously reported, the pair ended their 13-year relationship in 2022 following public reports of Udoka’s infidelity.
In August 2023, Long filed for “sole physical and legal custody” of their son, Kez. At the time, it was also reported that Long’s filing would determine terms of child support.
Then, in September, Udoka responded to Long’s filing and requested they share joint “legal and physical” custody of Kez with visitation rights.

More Details Regarding Nia Long & Ime Udoka’s Child Support Agreement
According to The Blast, court documents obtained by the outlet reveal that Long and Udoka will share joint custody of their son. Additionally, Long will receive $32,500 in monthly child support payments from Udoka.
The settlement reportedly asserts that Udoka earns $465,804 in disposable income as the head NBA coach of the Houston Rockets. Furthermore, it has also been determined that Kez resides with Long 95% of the time.
Therefore, Udoka’s monthly child support payment would be $56,389. However, he and Long have reportedly agreed on the $32,500 amount.
More Information Regarding The Former Couple’s Visitation Agreement
Additionally, The Blast reports that Udoka is “entitled to reasonable visitation” with Kez. The basketball coach will reportedly provide Long with “written notice and a plan” for his and Kez’s visits “via email at least ten days beforehand.”
Udoka will also be responsible for Kez’s health and dental insurance, and he and Long will work collaboratively on the 12-year-old’s education and welfare plans.
If the ex-couple has disagreements concerning Kez, Long has been given the authority to make final decisions “with advanced notice” to Udoka.
This reportedly stands for all matters except “routine” and medical emergencies.
Nia Long Recently Opened About Moving Forward After Her Split From Ime Udoka
As The Shade Room previously reported, the 53-year-old actor recently opened up about her split from Udoka. In November, Long sat down for an exclusive conversation with rapper Jeezy.
During the chat, Long revealed that going through a “really public breakup” was a “wakeup call.”
“I had a really public breakup recently,” Long explained, per E! News. “It was a wakeup call for me in the sense of like, ‘Okay, you’re going to do this on your own, and you’re going to be fine, and you’re not going to worry about what anyone thinks and has to say.’”
At the time, Long also shared her thoughts on infidelity and its impact on relationships.
“I don’t believe another person can break anyone up. I don’t buy that,” Long shared.
Before concluding on the matter, Long shared how she’s been doing since her and Udoka’s split.
“I think I’m exactly where I need to be, which is, some days, I’m totally good, and then, other days, I’m like, ‘Oh God, this feels like so much work.’ And then, other days, it feels like women should’ve have to be this strong. I don’t want to be this strong sometimes… [but] it is what it is,” she said.
