DDG has praised his leading lady, Halle Bailey, following the birth of their child, while sharing his newfound appreciation for women.
In a new vlog uploaded on Sunday (January 8), the rapper opened up about becoming a parent and applauded his singer girlfriend for taking to motherhood so naturally.
“I wouldn’t have chose no other person in the world to have a child with,” he said. “We learning. She’s a great mom. It’s crazy, she’s amazing.”
The Michigan native also admitted that he couldn’t resist watching the birth of their son, Halo: “I seen him come out. I watched the whole thing. I was honestly scared ’cause I was like, ‘Man, I don’t really want to see this.’
“But I’m like, ‘Damn, at the same time, I don’t plan on having a million kids … I’m probably not gon’ see this again.’ So I went down there and I looked, and it was the craziest shit I ever seen in my life, bro.
He added: “I have a newfound respect for women. As a dude, we really got it easy. I couldn’t imagine pushing a baby out of my P.O.”
As for whether fans can expect to get a glimpse of baby Halo anytime soon, DDG said he and Halle are taking the JAY-Z and Beyoncé approach by protecting the identity of their child for now.
“I don’t plan on showing his face. She doesn’t plan on showing his face. It’s just too priceless,” he explained. “He’s great looking … Think of him as being the best features of us possible — that’s what he looks like. He’s a beautiful baby.”

The moment of vulnerability comes on the heels of the couple’s announcement they had recently welcomed a healthy baby boy after rampant pregnancy rumors.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Halle Bailey wrote on Instagram: “even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.
“welcome to the world my halo [smiley face with hearts emoji, baby angel emoji, star emoji] the world is desperate to know you [wink emoji, crying laughing emoji, black heart emoji],” she added, referencing the ongoing chatter.
The post featured a photo of the couple holding the baby’s hand with a gold bracelet bearing his name.

DDG subsequently shared an alternate angle of the photo accompanied by the caption: “my biggest blessing by far [baby emoji, heart emoji] son.. never been so in love [holding back tears emoji] baby halo.”
Rumors of Halle Bailey’s pregnancy started last summer when she was seen looking a little thicker around the middle in a video with her rapper boyfriend.
With numerous subsequent red carpet looks appearing to cover the singer’s mid section, fans became increasingly convinced that the longtime couple was expecting their first child together, just months after they were believed to have split following cheating allegations on DDG’s part.
