Awards show weekend is upon us but Hollywood is still talking about the star-studded prmwire of Sony Pictures’ “The Book Of Clarence” Premiere at The Academy Museum in Los Angeles On Friday, January 5.
The event started in 2024 as celebs celebrated the epic new take on the timeless Hollywood Biblical story. To support writer and director Jeymes Samuel, Jay-Z, who produced the project, attended and joined him on stage for a memorable speech before screening the film.
The film’s cast included LaKeith Stanfield, David Oyelowo, Omar Sy, James McAvoy, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Anna Diop, Babs Olusanmokun, Micheal Ward, Nicholas Pinnock, and Eric Kofi-Abrefa who were also in attendance.
Others in attendance included Kelly Rowland, Jesse Williams, Seal, Dave Chappelle, Doja Cat, and more.
Directed by Jeymes Samuel, “The Book of Clarence” offers a fresh perspective on the classic Hollywood-era Biblical epic. The story follows Clarence (played by Stanfield), a streetwise man striving for a better life for himself and his family. He aims to prove his worthiness to his beloved and to show he’s more than just an ordinary person. Intrigued by the rising Messiah and His followers, he takes a daring journey, risking everything to pursue his own divine path. Along this journey, he discovers redemption, faith, power, and knowledge.
