21 Savage has dropped a new song providing the soundtrack to his upcoming American Dream: The 21 Savage Story trailer — check it out below.

On Monday (January 8), Savage shared the trailer for his upcoming biopic which stars Donald Glover and Stranger Things actor Caleb McLaughlin, who each play 21 at different points of his life.

“See my shooter pescatarian but he eat all the beef/ You gave me your ass to kiss but want the all of me/ I stand on business dot my i’s and cross my t’s/ All I got is these lil’ pictures when I think of all the G’s,” he raps about his past from an interrogation room across from McLaughlin.

The clip sees McLaughlin playing a younger 21 Savage (born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) with Glover in the role of Savage entering the rap industry. Druski, Young Mazino and more make cameos too.

Other scenes from 21’s life include him at school being bullied, moving around the streets of Atlanta and meeting Metro Boomin who helped the rapper come up with his 21 Savage moniker.

Watch the trailer below:

Music from 21 accompanying the film is set to arrive on Friday (July 12) but the biopic won’t be hitting theaters until Independence Day (July 4) domestically.

21 was born in the UK and emigrated to the U.S. with his family where he settled in Atlanta at seven years old.

Savage ran into legal trouble surrounding his citizenship when he was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in February 2019. They claimed he traveled from the UK to the U.S. in 2005 but his visa expired in 2006, although he remained in the country.

A resolution of those immigration charges was delayed, Savage’s team said (via TMZ), because of a criminal case related to the original ICE stop, involving controlled substance and weapons charges.

But DeKalb County, Ga. authorities told Billboard last year that those charges had been dropped, which seems to have cleared the way for the immigration issue to be settled.

Savage returned to his birthplace in November for his first hometown show at London’s O2 Arena since leaving over two decades ago.
