The cast of The Last of Us season 2 continues to grow! Beef star Young Mazino has joined the HBO series in a key role.
Young Mazino made a splash as Paul Cho in Netflix’s Beef, his performance getting nominated for an Emmy. It seems that role was his big break, with it now being revealed that the actor will portary Jesse in season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us series:
“Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him,” series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann told Variety. “We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”
The news of Young Mazino being cast as Jesse comes off the tails of Kaitlyn Dever joining The Last of Us as Abby. It seems clear HBO is ramping up production of season 2 as fast as they can as to not lose the momentum brought by the first season. Let’s just hope the rush doesn’t kill the show off like many series before it!
