In a recent episode of the popular radio show, the @breakfastclubam, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God shared their thoughts on the controversy surrounding actor Jonathan Majors and his reference to his girlfriend, Meagan Good, as “a Coretta [Scott King.]”
As we previously reported, the actor’s past and latest comments seemingly sparked a response from Dr. Bernice King, the daughter of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
Bernice King took to Twitter where she appeared to express her frustration while reminding folks to put some respect on her mother’s name and legacy. “My mother wasn’t a prop. She was a peace advocate before she met my father and was instrumental in him speaking out against the Vietnam War. Please understand…my mama was a force.” While she didn’t provide further details about what prompted her message, it coincided with a recent interview featuring Jonathan Majors, where he referred to Meagan Good as “a Coretta.” While speaking on this hot topic, the radio hosts had this to say:

During Jonathan Major’s domestic violence trial, an audio that was played to jurors heard Majors telling his then-girlfriend Grace Jabari that she needed to be more like Michelle Obama or Coretta Scott King… strong women who support their men and stay by their side.
During his interview with on Good Morning America, Majors, who was found guilty on misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment following their 2023 incident, the marvel actor explained the reason for him saying that Grace… who is white.
“I’m a great man. A great man. I do great things for my culture and for the world. … The woman that supports me needs to be a great woman.”
During that same interview, Majors, who’s known for his roles in movies like “Da 5 Bloods” and the TV series “Lovecraft Country,” praised his new girlfriend Meagan Good, saying, “She’s an angel. She’s held me down like a Coretta [Scott King]. I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh, but you know, I think I found her.”
