Lil Nas X has joined forces with French electronic music icon Gesaffelstein for his upcoming single, “J Christ.”
That’s according to the song’s Genius page, which also credits the prolific Israeli record producer Omar Fedi in addition to the “dark prince of techno.” Fedi also produced “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” the lead single from Lil Nas X’s debut album, 2021’s Montero.
Rumors of a collaboration between Gesaffelstein and Lil Nas X have circulated online since as early as the summer of 2022. They also included Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, with whom Lil Nas X was spotted in the studio by eagle-eyed fans at the time. However, it’s unclear at this time whether or not Bangalter is credited on “J Christ,” which is scheduled to release on January 12th.

The Gesaffelstein rumor mill doesn’t stop there. Back in March 2023, Skrillex revealed that the producer has a new album on the way. It’s been 10 years since Gesaffelstein’s last full-length album, 2013’s deeply influential Aleph.
“J Christ” is Lil Nas X’s first new single since 2022. Fans can pre-save the track here.
