TikToker Lynn Yamada Davis has died at the age of 67. The famous chef was known for her online show, “Cooking with Lynja,” which amassed millions of views on social media.

Davis’ passing was revealed by her daughter, Hannah Mariko Shofet, who also disclosed her cause of death.

According to reports, famous TikToker Davis passed away following her long battle with cancer. Her passing was announced by her daughter, Hannah Mariko Shofet, who confirmed to the New York Times that her mother’s cause of death was esophageal cancer.

Davis’ death was revealed by her daughter Hannah Mariko Shofet, who also disclosed that her cause of death was esophageal cancer. Davis was initially diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019 before being diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2021.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the content producer gained popularity on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for her extravagantly staged comical culinary videos. In a chat with People Magazine, Davis revealed that she had no idea what TikTok was until her son Tim began uploading clips of her on the popular app.

At the beginning of the epidemic, Davis’s son, a cameraman, requested her to take part in a project in which she was to make a video every day. When the lockdown persisted, the mother-son combo continued to create cooking videos for YouTube and later TikTok, with Tim behind the camera and Davis taking the spotlight.

“He’s the one who writes the script. He’s the one who does the videography. He does all the editing. So, he really is the genius behind Cooking with Lynja. I just show up,” Davis told the news outlet.

Since the news of her death, fans have shared tributes, remembering Davis for her lighthearted and comical cooking videos.

Millions of her adoring fans, who loyally followed her through her career as a social media chef, will surely miss Davis.

Tributes have since poured in, with many emphasizing how much they would miss Davis’ charm, humor, and fun videos.

“I just saw the news a couple of minutes ago; may you rest in peace, Lynja. You were a beacon of light in this world,” one person wrote on her TikTok page.

Another said, “R.I.P. Lynja you had an amazing family and amazing fans. You were the most wholesome and caring person I have ever seen on TikTok.”

A third person stated, “My condolences to you and your family; she was truly an inspiration to all food creators and was such a talented woman. Rest In Peace.”

“[Your] mom was so positive [and] so kind, praying for [you] and your family may share rest in peace,” a fourth person sympathized.

“Rest in peace to a legend; she will be remembered forever and my thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with your family. She was awesome,” another person wrote.

Davis’s son also posted a TikTok clip paying tribute to his mother by sharing heartwarming throwback photos of the late star. He captioned the video, “You’re the best mom I could have ever asked for but an even better friend. I love you mom.”
