Per the aforementioned publication, the court docs state that both Paak and Lin plan on sharing joint physical custody of their two sons, Soul Rasheed and Shine Paak.
Additionally, the ‘Leave The Door Open’ artist, who frequently collaborates with Bruno Mars, is also requesting to have a visitation schedule in place.
An arrangement about the division of their assets and property is still underway, indicating that the pair may very well be handling the matter outside of court.
Their official separation date was not mentioned in the filing.
Back in December 2021, Paak opened up about the struggles that he and his wife faced at the beginning of their marriage.
He recalled how losing his job at a marijuana farm ultimately left his family homeless and having to couch-surf from house to house as he began focusing on his music career.
The Couple Previously Faced Homeless
Long before the money and fame, Lin stood by Paak’s side as they navigated their way through the obstacles while raising their son, Soul.
“Soul does remember how things started with our little apartment in Koreatown,” he told PEOPLE. “He remembers us taking the bus and going to the WIC office and trying to figure things out.”
In 2016, Paak credited his soon-to-be ex-wife, whom he met at a music school, for holding him down during the challenging times they faced soon after tying the knot.
“She’s the one who came from Korea, didn’t speak [any] English, she’s [the one who has] the balls,” he told The Breakfast Club, per Bustle.
Amid his divorce proceedings, the 37-year-old is currently working on the release of his upcoming directorial debut, titled ‘K-Pops!’
Paak is not only directing the motion picture but also leading the cast alongside his eldest son, who’s also landed a role.
