Netflix has shared a brief first-look teaser trailer for Adam Sandler’s upcoming sci-fi film Spaceman. Sandler plays a lone astronaut on a research mission on the edge of the galaxy. While he’s on his mission he is dealing with marital problems and he comes across an alien creature that is going to help him fix things. It sounds like an interesting movie!
Sandler is joined in the movie by Carey Mulligan, Paul Dano, Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini and the synopsis for the film reads:
“Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late.”
The movie was directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl) and it was written by Colby Day. It’s based on the 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař. Spaceman is executive produced by Ben Ormand, Johan Renck and Barry Bernardi. Producers include Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva.
The film is set to debut on the streamer on March 1, 2024.
