Real-life father-and-daughter duo Ewan McGregor and Clara McGregor go on an emotional road trip in the first trailer for Vertical’s family drama Bleeding Love. The upcoming film will make its debut on February 16, 2024, in cinemas and on VOD.

From the producers of Past Lives and May December, the trailer for Bleeding Love showcases an adventure-filled drama about reconnection and healing. Aside from the McGregors starring as on-screen father-and-daughter, the forthcoming drama also stars Kim Zimmer, Devyn McDowell, Sasha Alexander, Jake Weary, and Vera Bulder.

Bleeding Love is a story about mending emotional wounds

Bleeding Love follows a father taking his estranged daughter on an approximately 14-hour drive to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in hopes of sorting out their strained relationship. Along their journey, as well as the father’s efforts to help his daughter battle drug addiction, they will meet new people who can help them break the barrier between them.

Directed by Emma Westenberg, the official synopsis for Bleeding Love reads as follows: “Starring real-life father and daughter Ewan and Clara McGregor, Bleeding Love is a gritty, emotional tale about healing familial wounds through re-connection. After a drastic incident in her life, a young woman (Clara) embarks on an impromptu road trip with her estranged father (Ewan). En-route to their destination of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the two are forced to confront the issues of their past that have led to their frail relationship, while encountering an eccentric array of characters along the way, in order to bring them closer together again.”

Based on a story by Ruby Caster, Clara, and Bulder, Bleeding Love hails from Mark Amin, Christine Vachon, Clara, Bulder, Greg Lauritano, Mason Plotts, and Cami Winikoff. Executive producers are Ewan, Tyler Boehm, Westenberg, and Brent Morris.
