Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta know that everything seems to be up in the air. It’s been a while since season 15, and many fans were expecting the show to have resumed filming by now. However, it seems the reports of a reboot of sorts are true. The latest is that Kandi Burruss is opening up about her status with the show and how casting is going.
Of course, most people were unhappy with the latest season. Many of the storylines seemed stale, and it led to Housewives such as Kenya speaking out about the show’s quality. Additionally, season 15 only had a two-part reunion instead of its usual three-parter, which is telling of how the network felt about the season.
Now, Kandi, who has been on the show since season two, is speaking out. According to LoveBScott, Kandi was recently on a live session and admitted that none of the ladies have been asked back yet.
She said, “They still haven’t told everybody who they’re bringing back. Yeah, they’re over here — they’re being real — …uhhh… [they’re] trippin’! People got lives around here. We gotta make plans for other things.”
Regarding the latter part of what Kandi said, the situation is frustrating for the cast because they can’t book other gigs that might conflict with a potential filming schedule. This leaves them waiting around while it’s also possible they won’t be asked back.
Additionally, Kandi was in a different Live doing a Q&A when a fan asked her about the show. She responded by saying, “They are still waiting on the new cast, so I can’t tell you anything.” Notably, Sheree recently shared similar sentiments as she was promoting season two of The Traitors.

It makes sense that Bravo and the production company would want to take their time with selecting a new cast. RHOA needs something to make it pop, and that level of magic takes time. It’s also important to note that this isn’t the only Housewives show that has experienced a dip in quality. However, we can also see how frustrating it would be for the current cast to not be informed.
Hopefully, there will be an announcement soon regarding the RHOA cast for season 16.
