Throughout his campaign, Ramaswamy made headlines with his controversial stances on various issues. He advocated for the deportation of American-born children of immigrants residing illegally in the country and questioned the government’s account of the 9/11 attacks. He also called for significant reductions in the federal workforce and raised doubts about the U.S. voting age. Ramaswamy criticized corporate America’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, drawing both support and criticism.
However, Ramaswamy faced criticism for ignoring contradictory details and inconsistencies in his positions. He failed to disclose his previous criticism of Trump’s denial of the 2020 election results or his view of the January 6th Capitol insurrection as a “dark day for democracy.” Additionally, his investments in companies with diversity programs that he labeled as “woke” drew scrutiny.
