Kyle Richards comes clean about her friendship with Dorit Kemsley and her claims about how close they are and how often they traveled together, outside of RHOBH, over the years.
Following the most recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly, Kyle Richards admitted that her friendship with Dorit Kemsley wasn’t as deep as the Beverly Beach designer has made it out to be.
On episode 9 of season 13, Dorit claimed that she and Kyle Richards no longer go on vacations with their husbands like they used to.
Dorit said: “Kyle and I used to go away once or twice, even more, a year. Now, I’m not invited on any of Kyle’s trips.”
According to Kyle Richards, Dorit’s comments about their friendship on RHOBH were “exaggerated.”
On her Amazon Live, the RHOBH veteran commented on Dorit’s claims that they used to regularly travel together before Kyle became friends with country singer Morgan Wade.
“It shows a trip that we went on once, PK, Dorit, and me and Mau. The four of us with our kids,” Kyle said of Dorit’s claims that they used to go on trips together all the time.
“And then they show another trip. It’s from the show. I’m sorry. I love Dorit but you’re showing a trip from the show. Let’s not exaggerate the situation.”
She continued, “My point is, you’re trying to make it seem lie I do all the trips without her now. There’s one trip that we actually did as couples -ever. She said ‘We used to go on trips together.’ Not to be shady. We’ve only gone on one trip together as a couple that I can recall, Mau, Dorit, PK, and me.”
“We did do Vegas together, that’s true, and then we’ve been in London at the same time, but that was just flat-out an exaggeration,” Kyle Richards added of Dorit’s comments.
“Some of the cast was like, ‘All these trips we weren’t included in…’ [and] it was that one trip that we posted a number of photos [from] that they just keep talking about,” Kyle quipped. “One trip they said was Italy, it was still the same trip in Mexico. All these trips I went on and the girls talk about this season, it was the one trip, which makes me laugh a lot.”
The RHOBH OG then addressed a fan’s comment that perhaps Dorit just “misses” her.
“Yes, but also she lives right down the street and can call me to make a plan too,” Kyle Richards explained. “I love Dorit but sometimes things are exaggerated and it’s frustrating.”
Meanwhile, on the RHOBH After Show, Dorit admits that she wishes “Kyle hadn’t pulled away from me” while building stronger friendships with Morgan, Teddi Mellencamp, and the other women in their friend group, who often travel together.
“The reunion was very, very hard for Kyle. I guess I just thought that she would have a couple of months where she withdraws but those couple of months ended up being a lot longer and it very much felt like there was distance between us,” Dorit explained to co-star Crystal Minkoff. “That upset me and I was experiencing that I was seeing via social media who she was spending her time with.”
“They’ve gotten so close,” Dorit said of Kyle and Morgan’s friendship. “Morgan has surpassed my closeness with Kyle. Obviously, selfishly, from my stand point [it’s shocking].”
