Kyle Richards gave her husband Mauricio Umansky a “taste of his own medicine” on RHOBH while defending him for missing an important event in her life.
During Wednesday’s episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards gave viewers a deeper look into the issues in her nearly 30 year marriage with husband Mauricio Umansky.
As Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards headed to Dorit Kemsley‘s Homeless Not Toothless gala, The Agency founder asked his wife to update him on what’s been going on while he’s been away traveling.
Mauricio’s work travels kept him from attending Kyle’s celebration of life event for her late best friend, Lorene Shea, which aired on the January 10 episode of RHOBH. Naturally, Kyle was upset by Mauricio’s absence but understood why he couldn’t make it. However, she admitted that she would have loved it if he could have rearranged his schedule to attend the event.
“Would it have meant something to me if, all of the sudden, he showed up at the event for Lorene?” the RHOBH OG said in her confessional. “Of course, it would have, you know, he was close to her also.”
While Kyle was understanding about Mauricio’s “excuse” for missing her celebration of life event for Lorene, the same couldn’t be said for co-star Sutton Stracke.
“I’m not accepting the excuse that Mo is giving,” Sutton explained. “Unless you are in the hospital or dead in a ditch, you show up for your wife and your wife’s dead best friend’s family.”
Elsewhere, in Kyle’s conversation with Mauricio, the RHOBH OG dropped a bomb that she was jetting off on a girls’ trip to Spain, which shocked the real estate mogul.
Kyle confessed: “It’s a little taste of his own medicine, to be honest, because there are many times where all of a sudden he’s like, ‘Oh, I’m off to Portugal, forgot to tell you! I’m leaving for Chicago.”
“I don’t really get a heads up,” she added. “So…oops!”
At Dorit’s Homeless Not Toothless gala, Kyle felt like all eyes were on her and Mauricio as they walked the red carpet, admitting that these kinds of events always make her feel uneasy.
“There’s a lot of whispering and watching Mauricio and me,” she said in her confessional. “Which feels really strange. They’re analyzing every move or hand gesture.”
When the RHOBH couple sat down at their table, Mauricio chatted with Sutton and poked fun at her recent drama with new co-star Annemarie Wiley.
However, Sutton was less than amused.
“Really?” Sutton asked in her confessional interview. “Alright, Mauricio. You can come to the Homeless Not Toothless event, but you can’t come to the celebration of life event for your wife? That’s messed up.”
After Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, Kyle took to Instagram to defend Mauricio and clear the air on him missing the event she held for Lorene.
On her Instagram Story, Kyle wrote:
“I wanted to clarify this… I did many times then but I guess I need to again. Moe offered to cancel his trip multiple times. Even though there were many people involved in this trip. I told him he did not need to do that. The date of the event was changed last minute and none of the other men were attending. I had a lot of support around me that night. It’s not fair to put that on him.”
