Is She-Hulk: Attorney At Law officially canceled? Following some dour claims from Tatiana Maslany, it’s still possible for the Disney Plus show to be renewed for season 2.
Tatiana Maslany made waves the other day with the claim that She-Hulk: Attorney At Law would not be renewed on Disney Plus during a recent appearance on NerdIncorrect’s Twitch stream (though, interestingly, the VOD has seemingly been deleted). When asked about the possibility of the show returning for a season 2, the star stated “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.’”
However, it seems Tatiana Maslany’s comments weren’t entirely accurate. According to io9, while She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is far from a lock for a season 2, a renewal is still on the table as Disney’s CEO Bob Iger reevaluates the company’s offerings on Disney Plus. However, if the show did return, it would likely take measures to reduce its massive budget.
While She-Hulk: Attorney At Law certainly had a large budget, it’s worth noting that almost every other Marvel Disney Plus show also had a bloated budget, with Secret Invasion costing almost as much and Loki season 2 having a higher budget than the second Thor film. Any budgetary issues aren’t the fault of the show’s creative team, but rather management. Let’s just hope that, regardless of the outcome, Tatiana Maslany makes her return to the MCU sometime soon.
When can fans expect to see She-Hulk again?
Although there has been no official announcement regarding a second season for She-Hulk, Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters is expected to appear in upcoming Marvel movies like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and its follow-up Secret Wars. With the MCU exploring the concept of the multiverse in recent projects like Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s possible that She-Hulk could make an appearance in different universes or interact with alternate versions of familiar characters.
Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, She-Hulk first appeared in the pages of Marvel’s Savage She-Hulk #1 in 1979. Also known as Jennifer Walters, She-Hulk is the cousin of Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk and gains her powers after receiving a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Banner, Walters is able to retain her personality and intelligence while transforming into She-Hulk.
Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
