Until one day, she decides to meet a lawyer in charge of the case related to finding Noh Suk-Min.

Do-Hee realizes that the lawyer was her date when she thought of getting married. He pledges to find Suk-Min. Meanwhile, news about police not finding Suk-Min’s body becomes public. After his interaction with Do-Hee and Gu-Won, he ends up falling into the Han River, but his body is nowhere to be found. This makes his whole family anxious, including his wife Kim Se-Ra.

Later, Gu-Won asks his assistant, Park Bok-Gyu, to head the Sunwol Foundation until he returns. He vows to stay away until Do-Hee finds her happy ending without him. He has a long and honest conversation with Jin Ga-Young about realizing their identities and how their stories turned out. They discuss how nothing beats their nature of being who they are. Ga-Young looks at the painting one final time, wondering if Gu-Won’s love is poisonous as well.

The Wild Dogs come looking for their boss, Gu-Won, but get disappointed when they find out he’s gone. Meanwhile, Joo Seok-Hoon convinces Do-Hee to join him for dinner when he asks if Gu-Won is gone for good. Do-Hee explains that their contract has come to an end, and this is the expected result. The scene shifts to give viewers a glimpse of Suk-Min, who has somehow survived.

Do-Hee eventually goes global with her company and celebrates the success alongside her employees. She returns home drunk and goes to sleep on the sofa. All this while, Gu-Won has been beside her to help her sleep well. The following day, she discovers that her bruise has disappeared and feels his presence. She buries herself in work but eventually visits the Sunwol Foundation as she misses Gu-Won terribly.

Bok-Gyu gives her Gu-Won’s necklace, which she wears around her neck. Do-Hee eventually remembers her past life. Apparently, she always wanted to kill herself as she suffered the consequences of class differences. However, because of Gu-Won, she was able to save herself and gain a new perspective on her life. But the guards eventually caught her and killed her because of religious differences.

Do-Hee, who was Wolshim, wanted to see Gu-Won one last time. She hoped he would forget her so that he could be free of misery. Do-Hee realizes that she was Wolshim and that Gu-Won saved her life when she was trying to kill herself. She goes in search of Gu-Won, but Suk-Min kidnaps her. He ties her up, threatening her to call Gu-Won.

In a desperate measure to have Do-Hee call Gu-Won and kill them both, Suk-Min stabs her leg. He eventually tries to slit her throat when Gu-Won arrives and attacks him. Do-Hee somehow stops the demon from killing Suk-Min. When Suk-Min shoots at Gu-Won, Do-Hee comes in between. She saves Gu-Won but ends up dying. The latter eventually kisses her and brings her back to life. However, he sacrifices himself and combusts in the process.

To watch if Gu-Won comes back into Do-Hee’s life, tune in to My Demon episode 16 on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10 p.m. KST on SBS and later on Netflix.
