Is Sir Patrick Stewart returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Professor X? The actor recently teased his potential role as Charles Xavier in Deadpool 3.
It seems as though Sir Patrick Stewart’s time in the MCU ended almost as soon as it began, with his cameo as Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ending in a rather untimely death. However, it seems death may not truly be the end for Charles, with the actor revealing that his return as Professor X in Deadpool 3 has been discussed at Marvel.
“I do now have every confidence that he’s still around,” Stewart told Josh Horowitz when asked about a potential return in projects like Deadpool 3. “It has come up. There’s been a process.”
With Deadpool 3 shaping up to be a true love letter to Fox’s X-Men universe, it would be more shocking to learn that Sir Patrick Stewart doesn’t appear as Professor X in the film. It’s also more likely than not he makes a cameo in Avengers: Secret Wars given the nature of the project. So while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness may have been a disappointing return, it’ll be far from the last time fans see Charles Xavier in the MCU.
