‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood’ Star Masika Kalysha is not backing down from her plans to render her marriage to Jamar Champ invalid!
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star recently slammed her former beau with “fraud” claims, citing it as the reason for their annulment. She also requested sole custody of the couple’s daughter alongside other demands that showed her willingness to end all ties to Champ.
Masika Kalysha Waivers Her Right To Spousal Support In Marriage Nullification
In the petition to end her marriage, Kalysha ticked the “fraud” box under the reasons for the nullity of her marriage. This was an unexpected choice as most celebrities typically chose “irreconcilable differences,” nonetheless, her actions painted a picture of something severe happening behind the scenes.
The TV personality went on to request that the court terminate its ability to award spousal support. As for the duo’s daughter, Amari H. Champ, she asked for sole legal and physical custody of their child while granting her ex-husband visitation rights.
However, his ability to access Amari came with several restrictions from Kalysha. The mother of two requested for both parties to attend child custody mediation or court-recommended child custody counseling.
Additionally, she requested supervised visitation for her former beau, noting she had “parenting concerns” but did not specify the problem. Her worries continued with her checking the “child abduction prevention” box and asking the court to ensure Champ could not travel with their daughter without her permission.
The Estranged Couple Have Had A Rollercoaster Relationship From The Beginning
Kalysha’s plans to annul her marriage made waves just days earlier. The nullification process differed from a typical divorce as this meant she was asking for her marriage to be considered invalid from the start.
The pair’s relationship has been a rollercoaster ride from the beginning, with the duo getting engaged four months after they began dating. Shortly after their engagement, rumors claimed Kalysha had ended their romance, but Champ refuted these claims.
As stated, the former couple share a daughter, Amari, while the TV personality has another daughter from a previous relationship. She welcomed Khari Barbie during her romance with the rapper Fetty Wap.
The Hip-hop star is currently incarcerated, leaving Kalysha as their daughter’s sole parent. When asked about handling her responsibilities without Wap, the 38-year-old said:
“You know, it is still taking a lot to get used to. It’s the new norm, which I’m not ready to accept that. You know, and it’s just… my daughter, she’s seven. So it really affects her.”
“But we’re working with it, we’re working together, they communicate very often. We’re just trying to figure out the healthiest way to manage this until he comes home,” she continued before addressing the possibility of taking Khari to visit her dad. In Kalysha’s words:
“Only a hundred times. You know, it’s a big difference from taking your daughter to sold-out arenas to see her dad than taking her to an institution like that. But, you know, at the end of the day, that’s still her dad. So we’re gonna make it work, and he’ll be home soon. And y’all make sure to keep streaming his music so I can get my check.”
