RHONJ’s Lauren Manzo is clapping back at criticism that she’s too skinny amid her recent weight loss. Find out what she has to say!
Fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey have seen Caroline Manzo‘s daughter, Lauren Manzo, struggle with her weight from the show’s inception in 2009. Weight Loss.
Any OG viewer of RHONJ may recall Caroline describing Lauren as “eight pounds of sausage in a five-pound bag” amid her struggle to lose weight via dieting and exercise.
Eventually, Lauren dropped thirty pounds after getting Lapband surgery in September 2011.
Getting the lap band was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. When I first got it, I didn’t want to tell anybody. So many fans related to my struggle, I didn’t want to feel like I was letting them down.
Lauren told Us Weekly in June 2012
Over the years, Lauren Manzo has kept fans updated on her health journey via Instagram, especially following the birth of her daughter, Marchesa Scalia, in 2017.
In February 2023, Lauren revealed that she dropped 50 pounds over the last three years after removing her Lapband in late 2019.

Lauren went on to explain that she removed her Lapband because “it slipped, which is super dangerous.”
The 34-year-old also denied claims she lost the weight by taking Ozempic.
However, she did admit that she started taking Mounjaro in January 2023 to help aid in her weight loss.
I have been on this journey for three years and lost 50 pounds. Started Mounjaro one month ago and have lost less than 8 pounds so far. So no…it’s not from Ozempic. But yes…I have jumped on the Mounjaro train but that stubborn 8 pounds doesn’t take away from the 50 [pounds] that I lost on my own.
– Lauren said in the comment section of her Instagram post
Since then, Lauren has dropped a total of 90 pounds and currently weighs between 115 and 120 pounds.
Within the last several months, RHONJ fans have started criticizing Lauren’s weight loss, so much so that she recently took to TikTok to address all the hate.
According to Lauren, she’s the healthiest she has ever been and is under the watchful care of two doctors – her regular physical and a functional medicine doctor.
On TikTok, Lauren Manzo shared:
“I’m gonna acknowledge this, and then I’m not gonna acknowledge it again. I am I understand I’ve lost a lot of weight. I lost 90 pounds. I was pushing 210 pounds, and I am only 5 foot 3. People think I’m a lot taller in real life. People think that I have a much bigger frame in real life. I don’t. I am very petite.
I am at a healthy weight. Right now, I’m bouncing between 115 and 120 pounds. 120 pounds is what actually what my doctors have told me my entire life that I should be for the average height and weight that I am. Where I would like to be ultimately is at 135 with muscle. Right now, I don’t have any muscle. I have been slacking at the gym. I definitely need to get back the way that I was, um, before the new year and gain that muscle back.”
The RHONJ alum continued:
“People are on here saying they’re concerned for me and stuff like that. I have doctors for that. I have a functional medicine doctor who checks an excessive amount of blood panels every three months. I take a ton of vitamins, and I have a primary doctor who also feels that I am at a healthy weight.
I am not having any issues as far as my weight goes. I am very comfortable with where I am, and not for anything, but when I was 210 pounds, I was just talked about for being too fat. And even when I was 160 pounds, everyone said that I was still fat. And you know what? For a 5 foot 3 woman, yes, 160, especially when you’re not when it’s not mostly muscle is heavy, especially when it’s mostly fat. So for everybody to keep commenting that they’re concerned about me and things like that. I mean, you see me eating all the time. My videos are of me eating constantly.”
Lauren Manzo admitted, “It’s very discouraging to finally be at a healthy weight that I was told by doctors and everybody that I should have been at my whole life, that people are saying that they’re concerned, and now all of a sudden, I have an eating disorder, or I have body dysmorphia. I know that I’m skinny right now. I’m actually very comfortable where I am right now. I am also comfortable in a way that if I were to gain 10 pounds, I would be okay with that.”
“Because I’m not fat anymore. Now I’m unhealthy. And I know that I’m fully ranting right now, and it might even come off a little bit unhinged, but maybe I’m just sick of it. Maybe I’m just sick of people judging me for being too fat and being too skinny. I mean, right now, I’m healthy,” the 34-year-old added. “I’ll tell you what, it’s a hell of a lot easier now at a 115 or a £120 than it was when I was £210 and depressed and not in a good place and feeling like I was going to die from high blood pressure all the time. So I’m okay. I’m happy.”
“I’m healthy. And if I were this weight my whole life, just like any other housewife daughter that is skinny or any other housewife themselves that skinny. No one would have anything to say,” Lauren insisted.
“I put my life online, but it becomes extraordinarily frustrating when people are judging me and just coming on here to talk shit when, like, I don’t know, I just maybe I just don’t have to be an influencer. Maybe I just don’t have to be a content creator in my bones. Maybe I’m maybe I’m too sensitive and too weak for it. So that’s it. My rant’s over. I put my life online, but it becomes extraordinarily frustrating when people are judging me and just coming on here to talk shit when, like, I don’t know, I just maybe just don’t have to be an influencer,” the RHONJ alum concluded.
