Most fans know Kathryn Dennis from Bravo’s Southern Charm, as she was on the show for eight seasons.
However, she announced in January 2023 that she would not return for the show’s 9th season. Unfortunately, she’s involved in some real-life drama as she has been accused of a hit-and-run.
Besides being one of the stars of Southern Charm, Kathryn has also contributed to several outlets. She has worked with E! Online, Hollywood Life, and Oscar.com.
According to Radar Online, Kathryn is being accused of ‘grazing’ a deputy sheriff who was on bus duty at a nearby elementary school on October 20, 2023, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
The incident took place at around 7:30 AM, and the deputy sheriff injured her hand and foot after being hit by the 2022 Ford Bronco.
After being hit, she was able to take note of part of the license plate number, but luckily, an onlooker got a picture of the full plate. After this, law enforcement tracked down Kathryn at her home. After being questioned, she denied any involvement. She also said that neither she nor her vehicle had left the house that day.
She also showed the law enforcement her vehicle, which matched the descriptions. Additionally, her Bronco has what was called fresh damage. According to the email obtained by Radar Online, “There appeared to be fresh damage on the passenger’s side mirror consistent with striking the stop sign that was in the Deputy’s hand.”
However, Kathryn says the damages were from other events. The problem for Kathryn is that her tag number matches the vehicle involved in the accident.
They obtained video footage from nearby businesses, but the driver wasn’t visible enough. According to the email, “At this time, there is sufficient evidence to say that is the vehicle involved, but there is insufficient evidence to place a driver behind the wheel at this time.”
The sheriff’s deputy had this to say, “I don’t know if it’s because she’s a local celebrity or actress or it’s because of the family that she is connected to or if it’s just they don’t want to. I don’t know if they just feel that they don’t have enough – I don’t know. I would like to know why just for my own sanity to know why they haven’t done anything.”
For full context, Kathryn’s family is pretty influential in politics. Former State Senator Rembert C. Dennis was her grandfather. Not only that, but she is a direct descendant of John C. Calhoun, who was the seventh Vice President.
