Stassi Schroeder opened up about why she wasn’t included in Vanderpump Rules‘ new spinoff, The Valley, while appearing on Jeff Lewis‘ radio show on Wednesday.
Months after she and husband Beau Clark, 43, welcomed their second child, Messer Rhys, Stassi, 35, admitted to turning down a role on the show, stating that she’s “not friends” with the cast, which includes Jax Taylor, 44, Brittany Cartwright, 34, and Kristen Doute, 40, and she didn’t want to “disrupt” her life after Jeff, 53, said he was mad at Bravo because she wasn’t included.
“It’s not Bravo’s fault,” Stassi clarified on the January 24 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “I was asked to film the sizzle reel.”
“They filmed a sizzle reel to like show what this show would be. So once this idea was brought up, and they were like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna film a sizzle with all the people that would be on it. Will you be on it and film the sizzle?’ And every fiber of my being voted, ‘No,’” Stassi continued.
According to Stassi, who also shares three-year-old daughter Hartford Charlie Rose with Beau, there were “a lot of different reasons” she didn’t want to be a part of the show.
“First of all, it wouldn’t be a reflection of what my reality is. I’m not friends with any, you know, it’s just, it’s not my group of friends,” she explained. “I’m friendly with some of them. I’m acquaintances with some of them and some of the new ones too I think are lovely, but it’s not my crew.”
Vanderpump Rules fans well know that Stassi suffered a falling out with Jax and Brittany after the couple snubbed her Rome wedding at the last minute. And when it comes to Kristen, the ladies haven’t spent much time together as of late.
Danny and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally, Jason and Janet Caperna, and Kristen’s boyfriend, Luke Broderick, also have full-time roles on The Valley, but it’s unclear which of them have relationships with Stassi.
After Jeff suggested she would have “become closer” with the cast during filming if she would have joined the series, Stassi confirmed, “I don’t want to.”
“I don’t want to have to go and do things that I normally wouldn’t do. I don’t want to disrupt the life that I have right now because I really like my life right now,” she stated. “When they filmed the sizzle, I was still friends with everyone and I still was like, ‘No.’”
Although Jeff then noted that The Valley could be a “different vibe” from Pump Rules, Stassi shot down the idea.
“It’s not because I know what they do on a regular basis and that’s not what I do,” she shared.
As for who she’s still friends with from Pump Rules, Stassi named several cast members.
“[Lala Kent] … [Katie Maloney], Tom Schwartz, you know, [Scheana Shay],” she revealed. “I talk to Scheana every now and then, like her kid came to my kid’s birthday party. I’m just, my life is not the way that it used to be. I’m not in this group. I don’t have time to just be in this group of friends that goes out all the time and gets to do whatever they want.”
In addition to the main cast, Jasmine Goode, 36, and Zack Wickham also star on The Valley in “friend” roles.
The Valley season one premieres this spring on Bravo.
