The Anne Hathaway movie The Idea of You will close the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival.
Nicholas Galitzine co-stars in the Michael Showalter movie about a 40-year-old single mom (Hathaway) who, after chaperoning her daughter at Coachella, begins a romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet.
Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Viktor White, Raymond Cham, Jaiden Anthony, and Dakota Adan round out the cast. Hathaway produced the film, along with Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Robinne Lee, Eric Hayes, Showalter and Jordana Mollick.
The Idea of You joins a SXSW line-up that includes festival opener Road House, the Ryan Gosling action comedy The Fall Guy, and Netflix series 3 Body Problem. Additional programming will be announced on Feb 7.
Amazon is behind The Idea of You, which is based on the bestselling book of the same name. Last year’s closing night film was another Amazon title, the Ben Affleck Nike directed Nike movie Air.
SXSW will run March 8 to 16 in Austin, Texas.
